The ADKPIX.com photographs (and many more) were taken during camping and hiking trips by Tor and Bonnie de Vries, co-founders of the design firm De Vries Design & Technology. If you have any questions about the photographs, please email us. (Note: all images were taken in the Adirondack Mountains except the last one, which is of the Catskill Mountains, taken over the Hudson River. But everyone liked it so much that we included it anyway.) Another online example of our photography can be seen at RememberSeptember11.us. The hosting for this web site has been generously donated by CheapCheap.biz, suppliers of fine domain names, web hosting, and much more.

The Adirondack Mountains are located in New Yorks Adirondack State Park. (ADK is a common abbreviation for Adirondack.) Chartered under the premise forever wild, the park encompasses nearly six million acres of public and private forests, fields and mountains. More than 40 of its peaks reach past 4,000 feet above sea level. Its 3,000 lakes and ponds are linked by thousands of miles of rivers and streams. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) operates 42 public campgrounds in the park and maintains more than 2,000 miles of marked hiking trails. One of the most popular towns in the Adirondacks is Lake Placid, two-time host to the Winter Olympics. In short, the Adirondacks are full of stunning natural beauty in all seasons. God is the greatest artist, and we merely took a few pictures while visiting one of His most breathtaking galleries.
